Herald Sun form analyst Brad Waters runs the rule over Friday’s card at Geelong.
RUHDYAR (Race 9 No. 5 – $5)
Rudhyar charged home to score narrowly when resuming over 1741m at Geelong a fortnight ago and can repeat the effort on Friday. Expecting him to continue on his winning ways.
SANDY PRINCE (Race 3 No. 11 – $2.80)
Sandy Prince raced on the speed and fought on well at both runs in February and has been gelded since. Sandy Prince has drawn well and should be hard to beat first-up.
ELVARIC (Race 5 No. 10 – $4.80)
Elvaric drops in class after a solid effort behind the promising Saint Of Katowice last time out. He’s back in trip for this and heavy ground won’t be an issue.
IMPERIAL LAD (Race 7 No. 2 – $4.80)
Won well when resuming last time in before going on to race consistently through the autumn. No reason he can’t go close to another fresh win at Geelong.
PRINCE ELVIS (Race 1 No. 8 – $16)
Prince Elvis closed well at the end of his last outing when beaten three lengths second-up at Cranbourne. He’s up in trip, which will help him, in a moderate maiden. He’s a good each-way chance at the odds.
The champion jockey heads to Geelong for five rides, including a couple of promising first-starters from the Godolphin and Danny O’Brien camps.
Flemington and Moe hold Saturday’s big Victorian racing cards. Jumps racing will take centre stage on Sunday with the Mosstrooper Steeple at Pakenham while Echuca also races. Warrnambool will hold a card of flat racing on Monday while the Ballarat Synthetic track will be scene of Tuesday’s meeting.
