PR Counsel Principal Kristy McSweeney says the Sydney lockdown has given everybody a “wake up call” that the Australian states are “so interconnected” it is “impossible” to stop movement between borders. “I think it’s almost Sydney going into lockdown, which we are all now are anticipating will be severe, has given everybody a wake up call that we are so interconnected … that it is impossible to stop the movement of people particularly in freight and transport and logistics across these closely linked borders,” she said. “Western Australia has a slight advantage but the rest of the eastern seaboard it is getting very very difficult to stop the movement of people doing those jobs.”
