Victorian Acting Chief Health Officer Professor Ben Cowie says authorities are planning to “remove remaining barriers” to vaccines by taking pop-up vaccination sites to those most vulnerable. “Our focus now is to remove remaining barriers that may prevent someone from being vaccinated,” Professor Cowie said. He said the pop-up sites will be brought “directly to services operated by community health organisations”. “And this includes homelessness services, drop-in centres, crisis accommodation facilities and rooming houses,” he said. He said the clinics will have “the capacity” to vaccinate 40 people a day. “Each of these vaccination teams will include two community health nurses, a social worker and a peer worker who has experienced homelessness.”
