Victoria records two new cases, one linked to growing MCG cluster
Victoria Covid-19 Testing Commander Jeroen Weimar has reported two new local cases of COVID-19, bringing the state’s total positive cases to 18. One additional case is from the MCC reserve of the MCG, an attendee of the Carlton-Geelong game on Saturday, which brings the total of MCG cases reported today to three. One additional case was an attendee seated in the MCC reserve of the MCG for the Carlton-Geelong game on Saturday. The other case is a personal close contact of a positive case at the Ariele apartment complex in Maribyrnong. Around 20,000 test results were recorded today, with Mr Weimar urging Victorians to “please get tested, wherever you are.” It comes as Victoria has been plunged into a five-day state-wide lockdown.
