Violent scenes in Melbourne’s CBD as anti-lockdown protesters clash with police
Anti-lockdown protests have turned violent with demonstrators clashing with Victorian police as Melbourne entered its second consecutive weekend of restrictions. Protestors, many of whom refused to where masks, gathered outside Flinders Street Station in the city’s CBD, calling on the government to end the lockdown. It is understood at least three people were arrested at the scene. It comes as dozens of officers were deployed at vaccination hubs across the state after the state government warned anti-vaxxers not to dissuade residents from receiving the COVID vaccine.
